I hope you enjoy the songs on the new album as
much as I’ve enjoyed writing and recording them.
I'd like to say a few words to express how good
it's been to work on creating, developing and
producing “BRIDGES”.

Amazing... exciting....creatively rewarding…
and challenging…

It's the challenge of it that I love most of all.
Whether it's a brand new song or an old song that's
so good it's become a "standard" recorded by many
of the all time greats. Always, that challenge as a
singer, is to present the song in my own way. To
convey what it means to me, honestly and sincerely, reflected from my own life experience.

The great songs... The ones that just get us…
They're the ones we want to hear over and over
again... coz they make us feel good. Great melodies
and lyrics... arranged with the right grooves... and performances that come from the heart….that’s what makes them truly great...

For me, there's nothing more exciting. Creating,
singing and presenting new and original ideas as
well as putting my own interpretation on some of
those classic songs… it’s all such a privilege.

Songwriting... I mean good, meaningful songwriting...
is, of course a huge creative challenge in itself.
To take the spark of an idea, wherever it comes
from, melodically or lyrically…to grow it into a whole song that connects and resonates with an audience
or with someone who listens to it on a CD, or on a
download and, of course, the radio… it’s such an immensely satisfying thing to do.

On the album you'll hear that my musical influences
are many... from pop, rock, jazz & blues to country, funk, latin & swing.... there are "BRIDGES" across
many of those styles...especially in the writing of
the new songs.
